In the current climate of budgetary constraints, we recognize that many companies are rethinking their active participation in various organizations, i.e., National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), Project Management Institute (PMI), College of Performance Management (CPA), etc. Travel budgets have been severely cut which limits, or precludes, regular attendance at scheduled meetings throughout the year, as well as important annual national joint conferences. Humphreys & Associates, Inc. realizes, however, that interest in the kinds of information disseminated at these meetings still exists, and there is a genuine need to be kept abreast of important decisions and regulations affecting the entire defense industry.
As a firm providing consulting assistance to various industries, our consultants must be kept absolutely current on all pertinent issues. Our vehicle for accomplishing this is an internal quarterly digest which discusses current topics as well as provides copies of all documentation distributed at the most recent meetings/conferences. It occurred to us that many of our current and prospective clients might also be interested in receiving a similar publication, which was confirmed by a subsequent survey. It was determined that quarterly issues would be appropriate, a executive summary (in some cases a thorough analysis) of each document would be included, and the volume would, of course, vary from issue to issue depending upon the number of documents generated during that period. The response was very positive and the first issue was published 1 July 1991, with an annual subscription fee of $475 to cover our expenses.
