The Contract Work Breakdown Structure Data Item Description (DID) applies to all contracts that require a work breakdown structure (WBS). It is used to document the CWBS including contractor extensions using terminology and definitions, where applicable, in the MIL-STD-881, Work Breakdown Structures for Defense Material Items. MIL-STD-881 is the basis for developing the CWBS. The DID summarizes the electronic report format for the CWBS index and dictionary for submission to the government customer. This DID is related to the Cost and Software Data Reporting (CSDR) requirements.
