This workshop provides an introduction to scaling the basic EVMS principles to match the level of data detail and control rigor based on the type of project, scope of work, complexity, duration, and risk factors.  Corporations often desire to implement EVM practices on a broad range of projects to improve project visibility and control for project portfolio analysis.  Not all of the EIA-748 Standard for EVMS Guidelines would be applicable on smaller less complex projects where compliance with the EIA-748 is not required.  That said, there are some common sense rules that should be enforced for a scaled EVM application to ensure sound management information is being provided to internal management, so they have timely and relevant information to make information decisions.  This workshop discusses how EVM practices can be scaled to support management objectives for better project visibility and control.  Using the framework of the EIA-748 guideline process areas, this workshop focuses on the core EVM practices and approaches for scaling them to fit the management needs for a given project.
